During the initial coverage phase, you will pay a copay for your prescriptions. For example, you'll pay a $10 copay for a standard generic drug, and a $100 copay for a preferred brand drug. Once your total drug costs reach $2000, you enter the catastrophic coverage phase and pay nothing for your Part D covered drugs. Hearing exams are covered with no copay, but require prior authorization and a doctor referral. Prescription hearing aids are covered with a copay between $199 and $1249, and OTC hearing aids are covered with a copay between $99 and $829.
