Prescription drugs are not covered by Central Iowa Health Senior Plan (Cost).
The Central Iowa Health Senior Plan (Cost) covers inpatient and outpatient services, including ambulance services with no copay. Emergency services and urgently needed services also have no copay. Additionally, the plan offers coverage for primary care, preventive services, vision services, dental services, dialysis services, medical equipment, diagnostic and radiological services, and home health services. However, this plan does not cover hearing services, home infusion bundled services, cardiac rehabilitation services, skilled nursing facility services beyond Original Medicare, and other services such as acupuncture and over-the-counter items. While some services like ambulance and diagnostic services have no copay, it's important to note that this plan follows Original Medicare for some services, and additional days or non-Medicare-covered stays may not be included.
Inpatient Hospital benefits are covered, but additional days for Inpatient Hospital-Acute and Inpatient Hospital Psychiatric, and non-Medicare-covered stays and upgrades for Inpatient Hospital-Acute are not covered. This plan follows Original Medicare for periodicity.
Outpatient Services, including Outpatient Hospital Services, Observation Services, Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) Services, and Outpatient Blood Services, are covered; however, Individual and Group Sessions for Outpatient Substance Abuse are not covered. Outpatient Blood Services include an enhanced benefit with three pints deductible waived.

The Central Iowa Health Senior Plan (Cost) covers preventive services, including Medicare-covered preventive services, annual physical exams, glaucoma screenings, diabetes self-management training, barium enemas, digital rectal exams, and EKG following a Welcome Visit. Additional preventive services like health education, in-home safety assessments, and others are not covered.
Hearing Services are not covered by the Central Iowa Health Senior Plan (Cost). Specifically, routine hearing exams, fitting/evaluation for hearing aids, prescription hearing aids (all types, inner ear, outer ear, and over the ear), and OTC hearing aids are not covered.
Vision services include routine eye exams once per year, with no deductible. Eyewear is covered, but contact lenses, eyeglasses (lenses and frames), eyeglass lenses, eyeglass frames, and upgrades are not covered.
Dental services are covered, but orthodontic services, restorative services, adjunctive general services, endodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics (removable and fixed), maxillofacial prosthetics, implant services, oral and maxillofacial surgery, and orthodontics are not covered. Medicare Dental Services are covered.
Home Infusion bundled Services are not covered by the Central Iowa Health Senior Plan (Cost).
Dialysis Services are covered by the Central Iowa Health Senior Plan (Cost). There is no copay or coinsurance for this benefit.
Medical Equipment is covered under the Central Iowa Health Senior Plan (Cost), with no copay or coinsurance for Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics/Medical Supplies, and Diabetic Equipment, however, some services are not covered, including Durable Medical Equipment for use outside the home, Prosthetic Devices, Medical Supplies, Diabetic Supplies, and Diabetic Therapeutic Shoes/Inserts.
Diagnostic and Radiological Services are covered by the Central Iowa Health Senior Plan (Cost), but the specific services of Diagnostic Procedures/Tests, Lab Services, Diagnostic Radiological Services, Therapeutic Radiological Services, and Outpatient X-Ray Services are not covered. There is no copay for these services.
Home Health Services are covered by the Central Iowa Health Senior Plan (Cost) with no copay and no coinsurance, but Additional Hours of Care and Personal Care Services are not covered.
